While these factors have affected food supplies worldwide, Sri Lanka's specific food insecurity primarily stems from the prevailing economic crisis and short-sighted policies enforced by local policymakers.

Early Life and Education

Prof. Mounaguru was born to Chinnaya and Muthammal as their second son. His formative years were spent in Seelamunai, where he attended the Amirthakali Methodist Mission School until the fifth grade. He then continued his education at Vantharumoolai Central College, where he not only excelled academically but also showcased his leadership abilities by holding positions in various organizations such as the Tamil Mandram and the Hindu Mandram. Additionally, his passion for sports led him to actively participate in volleyball and football teams.
